Dubai to expand Al Maktoum Airport with $15B deals

The Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, announced that the contracts for the Dubai Al Maktoum International Airport expansion projects will exceed a value of 55 billion dirhams (approximately 15 billion dollars). They are expected to be awarded in the coming months, with the goal of activating the first phase in 2032. Currently, contracts worth 13 billion dirhams are being implemented, having achieved over 10 million hours of work within 15 months. There is an expectation to accelerate the pace of implementation for strategic projects at the airport, aiming to increase its capacity to more than 250 million passengers annually and to strengthen the emirate’s economic growth.
