Egyptian army announces southern security operation

The Egyptian Armed Forces announced the execution of a security campaign in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior against criminal groups involved in illegal activities such as unauthorized gold mining, drug and weapon trafficking, and human smuggling in the southern region of the country.
