China ends Taiwan maritime patrol

The Chinese Ministry of Transport has concluded a maritime traffic organization and hydrographic survey operation in the waters east of Taiwan. The operation included surveying 1,030 nautical miles and inspecting 198 ships, with the aim of strengthening China's maritime sovereignty and improving safety management and traffic regulation in the area, in response to Japan and the Philippines' plans to demarcate their maritime boundaries east of the island.
