An armed group in Mali has offered a reward of two million euros (approximately $2.15 million) for information leading to the capture of Asimi Goyta, the leader of the military council ruling Mali, as well as rewards for information about the whereabouts of the country's president and senior military officials. These offers came after the government announced similar rewards for leaders of armed groups, amid escalating attacks that resulted in the death of the defense minister and increased prospects of gains for armed groups, which have launched widespread attacks since April on various parts of Mali.
