Lebanese environmental activist Mona Khalil, age seventy, has passed away as a result of injuries sustained in an Israeli raid targeting her home on Al-Mansouri Beach in southern Lebanon. She was defending the endangered sea turtles. Khalil managed the "Orange House" project for turtle conservation and refused to leave her land despite escalating tensions with Israel, as the military operations since the beginning of the year have resulted in the deaths of more than 4,000 people in Lebanon.
