Maritime Traffic Halted in Strait of Hormuz

The movement through the Strait of Hormuz remains limited despite U.S. President Donald Trump's statements about the start of Iranian oil tanker departures from the passage, which was announced to be fully open on Friday. Another cargo ship appears to be heading westward, but overall crossing operations are still limited compared to pre-war levels, when the average daily vessel traffic reached 120 ships. Currently, about one-fifth of global oil exports pass through the strait, approximately 20 million barrels per day, mainly headed to Asia.
