U.S. signals rejection of factions' inclusion in Iraq

The Iraqi government is moving towards excluding non-Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) factions from its plan to integrate them into the security forces, in response to American demands. Military sources confirmed that groups such as Hezbollah Iraq, Asaib Ahl al-Haq, and Katai'b Sayed al-Shuhada will be exempted from the integration process in order to prevent the strengthening of Iranian influence within Iraq. In response, the Coordinating Framework considered this approach an attempt by Washington to target these formations. Additionally, the United States sent a firm message to Iraq's new Prime Minister, rejecting the inclusion of factions linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guard in the integration plan, out of concern over deepening Iranian influence in the country.
