The three-year archaeological investigation revealed multiple re-openings and alterations, finding unexpected remains including five individuals in a tomb previously attributed to a single person and the absence of the expected abbess's remains. The study is providing new insights into burial practices of the 14th century, with ongoing DNA analysis and other tests planned through 2027.
