Over 8K rapes reported at US colleges
In 2024, there were over 8,200 reported rapes on American college campuses, with notable figures including Columbia University, which had the highest number of sexual violence reports among New York schools. While some universities, like Columbia, reported many incidents, investigation and disciplinary actions were limited, with very few cases resulting in expulsion or suspension. The data highlights ongoing concerns about campus sexual violence and institutional responses, especially at schools with high report numbers.
