A lawsuit has been filed against Cornell University alleging sexual assault involving members of the Chi Phi fraternity. The lawsuit claims the fraternity house was poorly supervised, leading to the victim being intoxicated and assaulted by members of the organization. Orazio Petito, a Chaminade High School graduate and former fraternity president, is not accused of direct involvement but is named due to his leadership role at the time. The case has prompted a state investigation into campus safety and misconduct.
