Ohio dog park shooting may involve self-defense claims
Two men engaged in a shootout at an Ohio dog park after an argument over President Donald Trump. Emmanuel Mathews is charged with felonious assault after shooting David Mattai, who returned fire, resulting in Mattai sustaining a severe gunshot wound. The case may hinge on whether each believed they were acting in self-defense, with legal experts noting that factors such as who initiated the escalation and Ohio's self-defense laws will influence the outcome. Mathews' trial is scheduled for February, with potential sentences ranging from five to fifteen years if convicted.
