Fake Facebook Marketplace ad with your name

Malwarebytes warns of a scam involving personalized text messages that mimic Facebook Marketplace listings using the recipient's name. The messages aim to create suspicion of impersonation and prompt responses, which can confirm to scammers that the phone number is active. Responding to such texts may lead to further scams, as scammers can use responses to gather personal information or deliver malicious links. Authorities advise against replying, clicking links, or sharing security codes, and recommend verifying activity independently through trusted channels.
