Germany tries Ukrainian over Nord Stream sabotage
A Ukrainian man is set to go on trial in Hamburg for allegedly orchestrating the sabotage of Russia’s Nord Stream gas pipelines in September 2022. Extradited from Italy, he is accused of leading a group of divers and explosives experts acting under Ukrainian military orders, with the aim of disrupting Russian gas revenues amid the Ukraine conflict. The case is politically sensitive, with Ukrainian officials denying involvement, while German prosecutors consider it a war crime, highlighting ongoing tensions surrounding the incident.
