Neanderthal shoulder bone damage from ancient spear

A Neanderthal who died around 75,000 years ago in Iraqi Kurdistan shows evidence of lethal violence, with a healed wound indicating a possible spear injury. The finding suggests that interpersonal violence among Neanderthals may have been more common than previously believed, adding to growing evidence of prehistoric human conflict. The specific injury could have been caused by a wooden spear, potentially during a fight with a rival or as an accident.
