Florida Publix attacker released before incident

A Florida man faces a felony charge after allegedly slashing a 70-year-old shopper with a box cutter in a Publix store. The incident occurred in Punta Gorda, with the victim suffering a severe neck wound; the suspect reportedly planned the attack for two days and targeted the victim because he thought the man resembled someone from the 1960s. The man, who admitted to mental health issues, had previously been involved in a separate assault and was released from mental health court diversion shortly before the attack.
