Nor’easter risks East Coast flooding

A nor’easter is expected to hit the East Coast, originating off the North Carolina coast and bringing heavy rain, strong winds, rough waves, and coastal flooding. The storm may produce wind gusts of 40 to 60 mph and cause moderate flooding along the Outer Banks, Chesapeake Bay, and Maryland coast, with impacts lasting several days. Mandatory evacuation orders are in effect for Hatteras Island due to worsening conditions, and coastal flood alerts are active, with water levels potentially rising 2 to 4 feet.
