Cumbria zoo receives rare baby fossas

A zoo in Cumbria has welcomed triplet baby fossas, the only ones born in the UK this year, highlighting efforts to conserve the vulnerable species. Born about three months ago, the playful trio is now visible to visitors, with only a few European zoos breeding fossas in 2026. The zoo considers their birth a significant step toward fossa conservation, as the species remains rare in captivity and in the wild.
