Comcast to reduce cable jobs and take $1B+ charge
Comcast plans to cut jobs in its connectivity and platforms division and expects to incur over $1 billion in charges in the fourth quarter. The company aims to streamline operations ahead of its planned spin-off of NBCUniversal next year, amid declining domestic broadband customers and revenue in its broadband business. The layoffs will target the connectivity unit, while NBCUniversal layoffs are not expected, as the company shifts focus to growth and efficiency before the separation.
