Rima Rahbani defends late Heli and Lady Fairouz against rumor chaos

The article discusses director Rima Al-Rihani's criticism of the chaos of rumors targeting her family, especially regarding her late brother Heli Al-Rihani and Lady Fairuz. Through her Facebook account, Rima documented how some news websites manipulated headlines by deliberately replacing her brother Heli's name with her mother Fairuz's name to attract more attention. She confirmed that these changes were intentional and not accidental mistakes, considering such actions as aimed at drawing attention rather than minor errors. She also renewed her calls to respect the privacy of the Al-Rihani family and rejected the exploitation of family names and symbols, emphasizing that she will oppose any transgressions. These statements come within her ongoing stance to defend her family’s artistic legacy and to respond to the rumors that affected it—particularly following the death of her brother Ziad Al-Rihani. She made sure to clarify the circumstances of his passing, reaffirm her full care for the family, and oppose any activities that do not honor the true value of the original works.
