Trump criticizes Tennessee execution process
A report stated that an attempt to carry out the death penalty against Christa Pike in Tennessee failed after she received two doses of the lethal drug and remained alive, leading to the suspension of the execution process and the governor of the state announcing a halt to all executions until the end of 2026. Former U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his surprise at the execution's failure, asserting that carrying out the sentence "should not be difficult," and that procedures may need to be reviewed. He also questioned why the drug used was not effective. Pike, who was convicted of murdering her classmate in 1995, is currently under medical care following the suspension of the process, raising questions about the methods used in lethal injections for executions.
