Fatwa Clarifies Dreaming of the Deceased

The article discusses the ruling on praying to see the deceased in a dream. It clarifies that a dream of the deceased does not necessarily indicate that their condition is good or that they are in a state of righteousness. Additionally, there is no specific supplication formula to achieve this; since visions are matters of Allah alone. The article also emphasizes that not seeing the deceased does not imply that their situation is bad, and that humans have no control over whether or not they see them. Therefore, one should not rely on such visions to assess the condition of the deceased. It is explained that the best action for loved ones is to pray for the deceased's forgiveness and mercy, to give charity on their behalf, and to read the Quran—focusing on good deeds that can benefit the deceased—rather than seeking ways to realize such visions. The article confirms that whether or not one sees the deceased does not indicate any problem, as clarity in this matter is within Allah’s control. The most important thing is to channel feelings into prayer and seeking forgiveness for the deceased.
