Fatwa Clarifies Divorce in Oath Breach

The article discusses the Islamic legal ruling regarding a husband's oath to divorce his wife if his son goes to the gym, and whether the son's disobedience to his father's orders leads to divorce or makes the son rebellious. The Fatwa Officer clarified that divorce is legally meant to resolve marital disputes when continuation is impossible, and it is not a tool for threats or pressure within the family. The use of divorce terms in everyday life for intimidation purposes is considered contrary to their intended religious purpose. He also emphasized that the occurrence of divorce depends on the nature of the wording, the intent, and the circumstances. Disobedience by the son to his father's command does not automatically equate to rebellion, as rulings vary based on the situation, and it is essential to maintain respect and good conduct among family members.
