Chinese Mother Turns Gamer to Streamer
The article tells the story of Zhong Guangguan, a 60-year-old Chinese woman who transformed from an opponent of video games to a professional gamer and live streaming star. She achieved this by learning and training on digital games starting in 2020. After her son spent long hours in internet cafes, she decided to try gaming herself to understand his attachment. Through over 8,000 hours of training, she succeeded in developing her skills in games like "Counter-Strike." By December 2024, she demonstrated her ability to defeat a talented 17-year-old Russian player, which boosted her fame and proved that age does not prevent excellence in electronic sports. Her message emphasizes that acquiring new skills is not limited to the young, and that women of any age have the right to explore their interests. She also highlights that gaming helps activate the brain and improve hand-eye coordination.
