Social Accounting struggles at box office

The film "The Social Account," which addresses the impact of Facebook and its policies on society, failed to achieve the expected commercial success during its first week of release, with worldwide earnings of $9 million compared to projections of a profit ranging between $7 and $8 million locally only. The film, directed by a filmmaker who previously achieved success with "The Social Network," focuses on the issue of former Facebook employee Frances Haugen revealing internal documents that sparked discussions about the responsibilities of tech companies and their influence on society. With an estimated budget of $30 million, the initial revenue doubles the predictions, raising concerns about whether it can cover costs, especially considering marketing and distribution expenses. The film's success in the coming weeks will be crucial for its financial sustainability.
