Tips to Keep Eyes Healthy with Contacts

The article discusses essential tips for maintaining eye health when using contact lenses, emphasizing the importance of avoiding common mistakes that can lead to infections and serious complications. It explains that the most significant risks come from using water or saliva to clean or moisten the lenses, as these can transfer water and bacteria that cause corneal infections. The advice includes using approved and specially designed lens cleaning solutions, thoroughly washing hands before handling the lenses, not sleeping in them unless they are specifically made for overnight wear, and stopping lens use if signs of infection appear, such as redness or pain. It also stresses the importance of replacing lenses at the recommended intervals, avoiding swimming or showering with them, and having regular check-ups with an eye doctor for early detection of any health issues. Following these guidelines helps reduce the risk of infections and preserves eye health when using contact lenses.
