Dr. Salah Mabrouk Khalaf: Humanitarian Doctor
Dr. Salah Mabrouk Khelaf, a consultant in gastrointestinal endoscopy at the South Egypt Cancer Institute, exemplifies a unique model of physicians who have transformed the medical profession into a humanitarian mission amid rising costs of examinations and treatments. Since 2018, he has organized free medical caravans for impoverished villages in Assiut, dedicating one day each week to free consultations and medication dispensing for those in need, with continuous follow-up of their cases. He emphasizes the principle that "the best of people are those most beneficial to others," aiming to provide healthcare to the poor. Believing in the value of compassion in medicine, he underscores that a doctor can truly make a difference in the lives of his patients, especially the vulnerable members of society.
