Medhat El-Adl Clarifies on Women's Issues

Medhat El-Adl clarified that his comments during a panel discussion about women's starring roles at the box office, which addressed society's outdated views of women, were a defense of women's rights and not opposition to religion. He pointed out that a patriarchal society governs separately from Islam, which actually champions women's freedom more extensively. He also stated that he defends women in communities that have experienced the perception of women's inferiority, whether in the Arab world or in Europe. Additionally, he emphasized that the advancement of society depends on the solidarity of men and women, and that the Islamic community supports women's freedom more than the current Arab society. He was honored with the Golden Pyramid Lifetime Achievement Award at the Cairo Film Festival in recognition of his work in cinema and television.
