Alibaba restricts Cloud Code use at work

Alibaba has decided to ban the use of the "Cloud Code" AI assistance tool within its work environments starting July 10, due to security concerns related to backdoors embedded in the tool. The American company Anthropic, which developed the tool, accuses Alibaba of attempting to unlawfully extract the capabilities of their model through a process known as "distillation," resulting in over 28.8 million interactions across 25,000 fake accounts, aimed at accelerating artificial intelligence development in China.
