Kingdom detains 15,591 for residency and border breaches

Field campaigns across various regions of the Kingdom successfully detained 15,591 violators of residency, work regulations, and border security between 10 and 16 / 1 / 1448 AH (June 25 to July 1, 2026 CE). Among these, 7,759 individuals were arrested for violating residency laws, 4,488 for border security violations, and 3,344 for labor law infractions. Additionally, 1,629 people attempting to cross the borders into the Kingdom were apprehended, including 46% Yemenis and 53% Ethiopians, as well as 58 individuals who tried to cross illegally out of the country. The Ministry emphasized that anyone who facilitates, enables, or provides shelter to violators of the regulations faces penalties of up to 15 years in prison and a fine of one million riyals, with the confiscation of the tools used. Law enforcement continues to implement measures against violators, including the deportation of thousands back to their home countries.
