Saudi Arabia saves 500m Riyals on water conservation

Since the establishment of the National Center for Water Efficiency and Conservation (Maa'i) in 2023, the government and housing sectors in Saudi Arabia have achieved financial savings exceeding 500 million Saudi riyals. This was accomplished through leak detection programs, efficiency improvements, and addressing the causes of wastage. As of today, the daily water savings reached approximately 158,000 cubic meters in 2026, representing a 532% increase over three years. The goal is to reach daily savings of 180,000 cubic meters by the end of this year.
