China announced a plan to strengthen cooperation with Namibia in the fields of energy, mining, agriculture, and infrastructure. Eight agreements have been signed, covering the exploration of critical minerals such as uranium and lithium, as well as promoting local manufacturing and processing of these resources, all aimed at supporting the diversification of the developing economy. Namibia is also seeking to attract Chinese investments to help fulfill its electoral promises and create jobs. It is expected to become the fourth largest oil producer in Africa by 2030, following significant oil discoveries. Currently, China controls about a quarter of Namibia's exports and primarily invests in the minerals and mining sector.
