Kingdom detains 15,836 residency and border violators in a week

The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced that joint field campaigns conducted between January 24 and February 1, 2026, detained a total of 15,836 individuals violating residency, work, and border security regulations across all regions of the Kingdom. Among the violators, 7,892 were found to be in violation of the residency system, 4,617 for border security violations, and 3,327 for labor law breaches. Additionally, 1,631 people attempting to cross into Saudi Arabia were arrested, including 33% Yemenis and 65% Ethiopians. The number of violators who have been deported stands at 12,211, while 17,273 were referred for travel document procedures or to complete booking arrangements. Currently, 30,139 offenders are undergoing legal procedures, with warnings that penalties can include up to 15 years in prison and a one-million Riyal fine for anyone facilitating the entry or shelter of violators.
