1131 Illegal Item Seizures at Ports in a Week

During a week, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority ("ZATCA") successfully intercepted 1,131 smuggling cases at land, sea, and air customs ports. These cases included 118 types of prohibited substances such as cannabis, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and others. Additionally, they seized 402 items that are banned, 2,478 tobacco products and their derivatives, 25 types of cash amounts, and 9 categories of weapons and related equipment. These efforts are part of their ongoing initiatives to enhance security and protect the community, in collaboration with relevant authorities. They also called on violators to report smuggling activities through official channels, offering monetary rewards to informants when the information is accurate.
