GCC explores Gulf energy links

The General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council, in cooperation with the Electricity Grid Integration Authority, organized a workshop to discuss strengthening the electrical interconnection among the member states. The aim was to support energy security and address future challenges. The Authority’s plans for network expansion, crisis management mechanisms, as well as the development of economic models and financial strategies to enhance sustainability, were reviewed. Participants emphasized the importance of continuous coordination and forming a joint working team to prepare the necessary study to further enhance electrical interconnection between the Gulf countries.
