His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashed Al Maktoum has adopted a national program to develop the statistical system in the United Arab Emirates, aiming to improve the accuracy and comprehensiveness of economic statistics and keep pace with economic changes, especially the growth of non-oil activities and the digital economy. The program includes adopting a unified base year of 2024 and reconstructing a time series of gross domestic product from 2010 to 2026, to enhance the reliability of data internationally and support decision-making. The program is implemented in collaboration with several national entities and seeks to periodically update the statistical system according to the best international standards, to strengthen the UAE’s position as a strong global economy.
