China's Ice Silk Road reshapes Asia-Europe shipping

China is preparing to launch a regular container shipping route across the Northern Sea Route in the Arctic, called the "Ice Silk Road," with the goal of halving shipping times between Asia and Europe and reducing reliance on traditional routes that are vulnerable to political risks and disruptions, especially after attacks on oil tankers in the Red Sea and tensions in the waters around the Strait of Hormuz.
