Iraqi Oil Boosts Gasoline Output

The Iraqi Ministry of Oil has announced the development of the assisted catalyst cracking project at the Basra refinery, implemented by the Japanese company JGC Corporation, with the aim of improving gasoline production and meeting local demand. The project is expected to add approximately 4 to 5 million liters of high-octane gasoline daily, along with 10 million liters of diesel fuel, thereby reducing imports of these products and strengthening supplies in the local market. The ministry also emphasized the investment in associated gas instead of burning it, as well as the development of projects to increase the production of free gas and accelerate transportation activities through alternative routes, all in an effort to support the sustainability of the oil sector and reduce regional tensions related to exports.
