During the second quarter of 2026, the European Union experienced a 5.7% increase in company bankruptcies, alongside a 0.5% decline in the registration of new companies. The Eurozone recorded a 6.9% rise in insolvencies, while the number of new company formations there decreased by about 0.1%. Regarding sectors, the educational and social sectors were the most adversely affected, with bankruptcy rates increasing by 21.1%.
