Customs Authority Urges Gulf Vehicle Owners in Saudi Arabia to Register

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, has called on Gulf vehicle owners, whether residents or Saudi citizens, to correct the status of their vehicles within a remedial period of 90 days, starting from August 26, 2026, and ending on November 23, 2026. Owners can either leave their vehicles from the Kingdom or register them with Saudi plates by submitting a customs declaration through a customs clearance agent, and paying the required fees, without the need to return to the entry port. It is also possible to request an extension of stay for up to 30 days via the Absher platform in coordination with the traffic authority. These procedures aim to regulate the stay of Gulf vehicles in the Kingdom in accordance with the new regulations.
