Mawan Saudi Offers 27 Waste Investment Projects

The National Waste Management Center "Mawad" in Saudi Arabia has announced 27 investment opportunities worth over 2 billion riyals to develop and operate 33 facilities across various regions of the Kingdom. The goal is to boost private sector participation and achieve the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. These opportunities include establishing and operating facilities for treating construction and demolition waste, medical waste, slaughterhouse waste, and municipal waste collection teams, with the aim of enhancing operational efficiency and reducing waste disposal in landfills from 5% to 18%. The projects are distributed across regions such as Medina, Mecca, Dammam, Tabuk, and Qassim, covering an area of more than 1.8 million square meters, with a capacity to handle up to 7 million tons of waste. This initiative aims to reinforce environmental and economic benefits, reduce carbon emissions, and protect natural resources.
