Acwa and KOWEPO Seek Renewable Projects in Uzbekistan

Aqua Saudi Arabia, the largest private water desalination company and a leader in green hydrogen, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Korea Western Power (KOWEPO) to explore cooperation opportunities in the renewable energy and energy storage sectors in Uzbekistan. The agreement aims to study potential projects in solar energy and energy storage, focusing on the Uzbek market, and to enhance collaboration between the two parties by assessing growth opportunities and future development prospects, leveraging their expertise in developing energy projects across the region. This step is part of Aqua's efforts to expand its international presence and support Uzbekistan’s transition toward clean and sustainable energy sources. It also aims to identify areas for collaboration and the potential development of new renewable energy projects, as Aqua currently has 111 projects valued at 475 billion SAR (approximately 127 billion USD).
