Algeria installs fire monitoring devices

Algerian authorities announced the deployment of monitoring and surveillance devices to prevent the recurrence of wildfires, after they were able to extinguish most of the hotspots recorded in the eastern provinces, where 118 fires have been put out. Currently, five fires are still ongoing in three states: Jijel, Sétif, and Tébessa, with some families evacuated as a precaution. The Algerian Red Crescent has shown solidarity through relief convoys and direct aerial support. The region has suffered significant material damages, and the death toll has exceeded 73, with efforts ongoing to search for the missing. Approximately 80% of the area's forest cover has been affected.
