Saudi invests in 9 environmental plants

The National Water Company of Saudi Arabia has signed a long-term contract with a Saudi-Chinese alliance to rehabilitate, operate, and maintain nine environmental treatment plants over a period of 15 years in four regions, at a cost exceeding 1.3 billion Riyals (approximately $348 million). The plants are located in the regions of Unaizah, Buraidah, Madearn, Ar Rass, Hail, Bqaa, Sakaka, and Turaif, with a total designed capacity of over 337,000 cubic meters per day. The contract aims to support the national water strategy by attracting investments, achieving environmental sustainability, localizing technology, enhancing performance efficiency, and promoting growth within Saudi Arabia’s water sector.
