Saudi Arabia deploys green communication towers

Saudi Arabia has launched carbon-neutral Telecommunication Towers as part of its efforts to reduce carbon emissions in the communications and technology sector. The first sites equipped with advanced 5G-Advanced technology were activated during the "LIP 26" conference, aiming to cut carbon dioxide emissions by up to 40% compared to traditional towers through the integration of renewable energy technologies and energy management solutions. This initiative contributes to approximately 33.1% energy savings and an additional 8% reduction through renewable sources, supporting the Kingdom’s move towards developing more sustainable and efficient communication networks. The tower project is part of the Authority’s efforts to enhance investment in sustainable digital infrastructure and develop innovative solutions to minimize the carbon footprint in the sector.
