Interior Ministry: 26,000+ detained and deported

The Saudi Ministry of Interior has revealed the results of security campaigns conducted during the week from August 27 to September 2, 2026. These efforts resulted in the apprehension of over 26,000 individuals violating immigration, labor, and border security regulations, including 14,165 violators and 1,315 who attempted to cross the border illegally. Among those detained, 41% were Yemenis and 58% Ethiopians. Additionally, 12,363 violators were deported, and 18,937 were held for travel procedures. The ministry also issued warnings that assisting violators could lead to imprisonment for up to 15 years and a fine of one million riyals.
