The startup company "FlowGuard," founded at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), achieved first place worldwide in the Hult Prize competition for the first time by a Saudi participant in the international contest. Supported by the Saudi Small and Medium Enterprises Authority (Monsha’at), the Kingdom hosted the competition and provided necessary support to local participants. This enabled the Saudi team to reach the top 8 out of approximately 18,000 companies from 130 countries. Ultimately, they won first place and received a seed investment of one million dollars to support the company's growth and expansion. This achievement reflects the impact of the entrepreneurial support system provided by "Monsha’at" for university startups, which includes offering platforms, enabling the development of business models, mentorship, and connecting companies with markets and business opportunities.
