The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Stock Exchanges Committee, which represents 14 stock exchanges from Southern African countries. The aim is to explore opportunities for member capital markets to join the Tadawul platform and connect with the UAE markets. The committee is coordinating the participation of these exchanges in discussions, with the goal of expanding the linkage between capital markets in the UAE and South Africa, and strengthening financial and investment cooperation between the two sides. This effort is part of broader initiatives to develop regional markets, enhance liquidity, and promote regional financial integration. The Tadawul platform is one of the UAE market’s most important tools for cross-border equity trading, currently linking 11 stock exchanges with a market capitalization exceeding one trillion dollars, and more than 700 companies listed. Since the beginning of 2026, the platform has seen trading volumes amounting to 13.5 billion dirhams. Experts anticipate that this partnership will help improve investment flows and strengthen commercial ties between the UAE and Southern African nations.
