Saudi Arabia and Syria explore waqf cooperation

The Syrian Minister of Awqaf, Dr. Muhammad Abu Khair Shukri, the Governor of the General Authority for Awqaf, Imad bin Saleh Al-Kharashi, and the Chairman of the Saudi-Syrian Business Council, Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Abyani, held a meeting in Riyadh to discuss strengthening cooperation in the waqf (endowment) sector, exchanging expertise, and implementing initiatives to develop assets and invest waqf funds. The visit was part of the efforts by the General Authority for Awqaf to expand collaboration and learn from the Saudi experience in organizing and developing the sector, with the aim of improving the economic and social efficiency of the waqf sector in Syria.
