Kingdom detains 14,796 for visa violations

During a week, field campaigns across the Kingdom resulted in the arrest of 14,796 individuals violating residency, work, and border security regulations. Among them, 7,504 violations were related to residency, 3,783 to border security, and 3,509 to labor regulations. Additionally, an attempt by 1,273 individuals to cross the borders into the Kingdom was thwarted, including 44% Yemenis and 55% Ethiopians. A total of 12,057 violators were deported, while many others were referred to obtain travel documents or to complete their reservations. Those proven to be involved in transporting or sheltering violators face penalties of up to 15 years in prison and a million riyals in fines, with transportation means and sheltering premises being confiscated.
