The activities of the Egypt Mining Forum kicked off in the New Capital, involving international investors and companies, with the aim of strengthening the mining sector in Egypt. The government is seeking to increase its contribution to about 6% of the GDP. Over the past three months, Egypt has seen the initiation of 119 new mining companies, which offered proposals across 118 out of 335 sectors, covering an area of nearly 45,000 square kilometers. These include minerals such as gold, phosphate, and talc. Additionally, Egypt is moving forward with developing investments and industrial projects, including a phosphate acid production complex worth $650 million, with production expected to begin in 2028. The goal is to increase added value and stimulate the national economy.
